Double First is to enable the use of Microsoft’s Power BI (Business Intelligence) to its schools.

‘This will take Engage Analytics to a significantly new level,’ said Paul Rastall, CTO. ‘The user will have a really powerful toolset with which to analyse the data stored in Engage.’

What does Power BI enable you to do?

Using Power BI, you can turn your Engage data into information, knowledge and insight, helping sound decisions to be made.

Presentation can be in many styles, including Graphs, Charts, Maps, and Tables. You have the ability to add filter upon filter with drill down capability.

What’s involved?

Engage is releasing a new Data Connector to link Power BI with Engage.

The Basic Power BI tool for Desktop can be downloaded free of charge from Microsoft. To use Power BI with Engage, you need Engage’s new ‘Data Connector’.

More information on Power BI, its licensing and feature options, is here.

Designing Reports

By using Power BI’s ability to examine hundreds of data sources, you can design your own reports.

Alternatively, if you want to have a report created for you, just raise a Case on the Engage Support Centre and you will receive a quotation.

Engage’s Power BI Forum

Another Engage forum will be added specifically for Power BI, to the forums on the Engage Support Centre. Users will be able to share their experiences and make their own reports available to other schools.

Any price concessions?

Yes. Schools which already have Engage Analytics will receive the new Data Connector free of charge.
